Taoist Temple
Lotus Mountain
Lotus Mountain, located in Shandian Village in the northeast of Ciba Town, is one of the "Three Peaks in the World" of Taoism. Because the mountain is surrounded by nine peaks and looks like a lotus, it is called "Lotus Mountain". According to records, Laozi, the founder of Taoism, once preached here. During the Northern Wei Dynasty, people built a ancestor temple on the top of the mountain. In the sixth year of Qianfeng (666), Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty posthumously conferred the title of "Emperor Xuanyuan" on Laozi, and the ancestor temple was called "Xuandi Palace".
